Women Basketball Coaches Are Galante Warriors

The basketball playoffs remind how what men do, women do just as well, sometimes even in high heels!

It’s a man’s world. In sports anyway. Just take a look at this dress code for women's basketball coaches. They wear HEELS court side! How crazy is that? Not only do these coaches run up and down the sidelines for 60 minutes. They scream at referees. Go nuts for their girls. Call plays. All in stilettos!

I first noticed this particular dress code at a local women’s McGill University basketball game. When I started reading up on this and looking at some of these coaches, I was pleasantly surprised by most of them declaring that they loved dressing up for game day. They saw themselves as warriors and the heels and threads were part of their armour!

For one, they feel their power in the huddle. Heels make sense when you're surrounded by giant players. They also deem it “professional” and “appropriate” attire. They are of the opinion that seeng as their players come dressed for the game, stands to reason they sport their best threads come game time as well.

“I love to dress for games because I know that for two hours, I can be this very feminine but very powerful, passionate person,” says Nicki Collen, head coach of the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream.

Some women coaches will dress from the bottom up, choosing their heels before anything else. She’s not alone right, girls?

Then we have the fierce coaches who will simply not adhere to the rules and do away with the heels. They opt for Converse Chuck Taylors instead. University of Kentucky coach, Niya Butts owns up to this all-too perfect warrior look.

Bet these women deserve some pain relief wouldn't you say?  Even if you don't run up and down the court, I bet you do too after wearing heels for a workday. Ever hear of Dr Kerklaan's Natural CBD Pain Cream that's spiked with cooling eucalyptus and peppermint oils to soothe sore joints and muscles? Sounds divine.

Here are just a few shots of some coaches really sporting it! Go coaches! Meanwhile, GO RAPTORS with or without Drake!
